When school ends,
what comes next?
R.I.S.E. is a national development ecosystem building real pathways to independence, inclusion and opportunity — for SEN and neurodiverse young adults aged 16 and above.
Support thins out exactly when independence matters most.
Significant support exists for children with special needs — early intervention, therapy, school-based programmes. But once school ends, that infrastructure largely disappears, just as young adults need it to step into the wider world. Families are left searching for pathways towards independence, skills development, employment and community participation.

A Message from the president
“How It All Began…”
People often ask why R.I.S.E. was established.
The answer is simple. We saw too many talented autistic and other neurodiverse individuals whose abilities were overlooked because society focused on their challenges instead of their strengths.
R.I.S.E. was created to change that. Inspired by the success of Unveiling Uniqueness 1 and 2 and what Edwin Nathaniel and Dr Tan Swee Chuan had created: RHYTHM FOR INCLUSION, the committee feels it is time to move forward.
We are not a café, a group home or an art gallery. While these may one day become part of our journey, our purpose today is to build pathways — pathways that discover talent, nurture potential, create opportunities and empower autistic and other neurodiverse individuals to live with confidence, dignity and purpose.
Through music, the arts, mentorship and community partnerships, we hope to transform perceptions, open doors to employment and entrepreneurship, and build a more inclusive Malaysia where ability is recognised before disability.
This is only the beginning of the journey. And we invite you to join us on this journey.
